Lady Gaga is the de facto music 2.0 case study. When ThinkTank met her in 2008, she was an unorthodox artist with a “disco stick” and a promising single. Throughout our two and a half year campaign, the pop star evolved into the first true superstar of the digital age as the first franchise to: reach one billion online video views, become the most followed person on Twitter, and also a top “Liked” person on Facebook. By connecting personally with her fans online, the Social Media Monster made her digital fame translate to tangible success turning the music and digital world upside down… read less

Lady Gaga's 'Bad Romance' is Her 5th #1 + Polaroid Partnership + Gaga Grammy Video!
2010-01-11 11:03am
International pop superstar Lady Gaga today added another notch to her belt of #1 hits as “Bad Romance” climbs to the top of Billboard’s Top 40 Airplay Chart. She becomes the first artist in the chart’s history to send their first five singles to the #1 spot, and remarkably she has done so in less than a year. “Bad Romance” is Gaga’s first hit from her second album, ‘The Fame Monster’ (Streamline / Konlive / Cherrytree / Interscope Records.) Her debut album, ‘The Fame’, has sold more than 8 million copies worldwide, and her singles have sold an astounding 35 million digital copies as well. The album is the home to her previous #1 hits (“Just Dance”, “Poker Face”, “LoveGame”, and “Paparazzi”).
Says Lady Gaga, "Just six months ago, “Bad Romance” was nothing but a dream, a recurring melody, a lyric hidden on a napkin on my tour bus. Now, it’s my fifth #1 record, and a reminder to fans to always follow their dreams. I would like to thank all my beautiful little monsters and my incredibly supportive team for the most memorable year of my life. To have had such a phenomenal reception to my second album, ‘The Fame Monster’, is life-changing. I’m so happy I could die."
Lady Gaga is wrapping up the first U.S. leg of her Monster Ball Tour this month, and after she performs at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on January 31 (where she is nominated for five Grammys), she’ll take a revamped Monster Ball Tour to the U.K.
Earlier this week, Polaroid announced a multi-year strategic partnership with Lady Gaga, who will serve as creative director for a specialty line of Polaroid Imaging products. The partnership brings together one of the world’s most iconic brands with today’s fastest rising musical artist and cultural trend setter, known for her string of smash global hits, her fashion forward design aesthetic (including her headphones, Heartbeats, part of the Beats by Dr. Dre family) and her exceptionally close connection with her fans.
Lady Gaga made a special appearance at the Polaroid booth at yesterday’s 2010 Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas to talk about her new creative and business relationship with the Polaroid brand.
“I am so proud to announce my new partnership with Polaroid as the creative director and inventor of specialty projects,” said Lady Gaga. “The Haus of Gaga has been developing prototypes in the vein of fashion/technology/photography innovation—blending the iconic history of Polaroid and instant film with the digital era—and we are excited to collaborate on these ventures with the Polaroid brand. Lifestyle, music, art, fashion: I am so excited to extend myself behind the scenes as a designer, and to as my father puts it—finally, have a real job.”
The partnership with Lady Gaga is the most recent in a string of partner announcements by PLR IP Holdings, LLC (PLR), the new owner of the Polaroid brand.New products by Polaroid and Lady Gaga are to hit retail shelves starting in late 2010.
