In mid-1999, Kelis was singing alongside rap troublemaker Ol’ Dirty Bastard on his cut “Got Your Money,” and her signature Technicolor-spiraled afro & colorful style sparked critics’ interests. Kelis captured feminist desires on her debut album Kaleidoscope, released in December 1999. Two years later she released Wanderland exclusively in Europe, Asia and Latin America. 2003’s Tasty followed and yielded the Top Ten Neptunes produced hit “Milkshake.” In 2006, her fourth album, Kelis Was Here, was released and led by the duly assertive “Bossy.” Kelis has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry – having recorded with willl.i.am, Bjork, Outkast, Raphael Sadaaq, Moby, Enrique Iglesias and Basement Jaxx to name a few.
Kelis has been busy working on her next album with producers such as David Guetta, Burnz, DJ Ammo, Boys Noize, Diplo/Switch & Free School to name a few. The yet to be titled album is slated for release in 2010 on will.i.am/Interscope Records… read less

PHOTOS: Kelis Performs For Christian Dior
Christian Dior held a special event to celebrate their Shanghai store opening on Saturday, May 15th with a runway show to introduce Galliano’s Summer 2011 resort collection for Christian Dior followed by an exclusive after party. The runway show also was held as the screening for the luxury label’s new short film, “Lady Blue Shanghai,” written and directed by David Lynch. The event was held on the beautiful Bund docks across from the Shanghai city skyline in a special, massive tent that took 2 weeks to build just for the event. Kelis was requested by Galliano to help celebrate with a special performance, singing “Acapella,” “4th of July,” “22nd Century,” “Milkshake” and “Trick Me” for the show attendees and massive crowd of outdoor onlookers who could see inside the clear tent wall from the dock. “Acapella” was also incorporated into the show’s runway music which was remixed by the show’s musical director Jeremy Healy with strings playing against it by a live orchestra as models strutted down the catwalk. Kelis wore Dior of course! A red one shoulder dress with kimono sleeve when sitting in the front row at the show; a black and silver sequin suit for her performance; and a purple satin parachute pant jumpsuit for party. Celebrities in attendance included Charlize Theron and Marion Cottilard.
